I want to die. So bored and fed up with a static life. No job , been 3 years since someone has employed me, and little prospects.

Any odds of getting a job overseas?

If all unemployed wanted to die, more than half the population will disappear.
Have faith in Allah and Pray; you will soon be finding a job.

I have prayed for 3 years man. I'd like Allah to grant one of my prayers now. As for my qualifications, I have just finished my final term as an undergraduate and now await my exams after Easter.

I make decent grades (B ave pretty much)....but no luck.

^ History undegrad with B average. Tough situation. I would say if you really into it, go to graduate school and get into academics. If not, then change your field.

i've sort of the same dilemma...I'm an english major and teaching is the most common career of english majors..tho i dont want to teach..

Some direct career options I can think of on the top of my head:

  • Demographer
  • Museum Curator
  • Genealogist
  • Historic Preservationist
  • Archivist

legbreakgoogly… whats your approach to finding work/seeking opportunities?

I also personally know two people who got History Majors and 1 opted to get a post-grad diploma in Journalism and is working successfully at a TV channel… the other completed a Master of Library Science and is working as an information manager… she says there’s great synergy between records & archives management, librarianship and her history degree.

^ How do you know so much>? YOu know about every single field..english, medicine, history, etc...wat did you major in?

^ haha... Sara... my major was Computer Science & Mathematics, but I've worked as a Student Advisor at the school, college and vocational levels.

besides, I'm in academia for the past five years and I come across people from a multitude of backgrounds, and am part of a few different communities of practice.

I guess its mostly based on life experiences and interactions with people.

Well what i have heard and seen in america is that people that get jobs really fast are people that will do interships while in college so right when they are out they get hired really quickly. Where are you based?

I am planning to do an MA, I made a thread abt my choices, to which few replied.

I even have an offer from a few unis, decent ones too, so the academia route seems to be the way I'll go. But financing my studies is hard. Banks dont seem to loan to History majors.
