A few basic specs:
10x Optical Zoom
7.1 MP
Image Stabilization
Movie Clips: 1280 x 720 (30 fps - wow), 640 x 480 (30 fps), audio, unlimited
LCD Screen: 1.8’’ flip out and twist
The price is about $50 less than the Canon Powershot G7 (which has less of a zoom, 15 fps video clips, no swivel LCD, but 10 MP). I don’t understand why this camera is cheaper than the G7.
Because this is more of a point and click camera. Ofcourse it will have some manual saections, but not as much as the G7 which is more pointed at the amateur photographer. This TX1 is more of a gizmo.
Go with the G7 if you want more manual settings. If you want a camera for 24/7 company and pictures with friends annd for party’s go with this one :k:
Okay so I need to get a camera that I can use all the time, and I’ve had my eye on the G7 for quite some time now. Obviously, it’s not a compact camera but I guess it’s not good for taking around with me everywhere because of all the features. So maybe I should read more into this TX1?
Yea I'm definately not lugging that thing around with me everywhere I go. I need something that I can take pics on-the-go and also take good pics when I'm really into shooting.
So far I'm deciding between the Canon G7 and the Canon TX1.

i just read the specs of TX1.. and it doesn't look impressive at all,
- Wide Angle 39mm ( too low or high wot ever u want to say, but not good)
- Aperture starting at 3.5 is not good either
- 2m flash range is short for night shooting
Just my thoughts...
