Cannot delete Foo

Why don’t the OS tells which process(es) or thread(es) is using a perticular resource rather than just saying someone else is using it.

I mean, I want to delete a folder using Windows explorer and it barks that it is being used by some other program. I shut down almost every program on my machine but still get an error.

Obviously if I reboot I will be able to delete the folder but I shouldn’t have to do it.

Any work arounds?

Re: Cannot delete Foo

Try killing the explorer.exe in Task Manager and restarting it. There's another utility out there called Unlocker (I posted a link to it a while back) which would it as well
