Can you make a candle out of your earwax? (science p.o.v. please)
Re: candles
no but i made candles of raw wax once in the same style they used to make them in colonial united states.
it took forever - the dipping part of it. And its cheaper to buy the ready-made ones.
Re: candles
^ yeah I agree. It’s a hell of a lot of work! Don’t even attempt it. Was it in anyway inspired by shrek? ![]()
Re: candles
no, it was a school project for history class.
Re: candles
^ We made candles in our art studio at school. That too was under a teacher's supervision and we still weren't able to do it right without getting wax on ourselves.
Re: candles
my thoughts
to make one candle
you need to collect earwax from a large amount of people unless you go and collect from a doctor who cleans out ears for old people and people who have accumilated large amounts over the years... (the doc pours water into the ear and eventually the water comes out and with it an amazingly large amout of wax)
and then you make your candleand let it dry out (because the wax is sticky and floppy and wet)
and then when you do get to light it the candle will heat up (depending on how large it is and possible become floppy and collapse
O it may not depending on how hard it is
this is a yucky subject.... just writing the above made me feel queasy!
i hav eno scientific knowledge to back me up!
