Anyone been to Cancun ? I am planning to travel this (summer) year. Any advice ? Any tips ?

I went to Cancun 2 or 3 years ago. It's a lot of fun, great for couples and even families. There is definitely a lot to do there from seeing the Mayan Riviera and ruins and going to the amazing Xcaret park where you can swim with all sorts of fishes. You can also go snorkelling or visit Cozumel which is close to Cancun. I went snorkelling here and it was amazing. Be sure to visit Dolphin Beach, if you are staying a hotel where that gorgeous blue water is ... it's a short bus trip. Yeah, we took local transit. It was fun. :)

It should be fine. Stay at a good family-oriented resort and talk to people who work there if you are concerned about safety or anything like that. I know that we didn't experience any problems at all, but we stayed out of trouble. It's there if you go looking for it. We stayed at a resort where there were a lot of kids and babies running around and the families seemed to be enjoying themselvs.
A lot of resorts have their own personal tours and buses that will take you around everywhere if you want to travel outside of the resort. It just depends on which resort you go to.

but there main problem was about the lack of vegetarian options around ..........but then that might ahve been in there particular resort!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a lovely time ! I stayed at a resort called GR SOLARIS. It was amazing. The staff was just wonderful. Never seen such awesome service in my life. I am absolutely in love with cancun.
