Sheyn is right. I'm a Leo.......and I've read my description. And it doesn't match my personality. My sister is a Cancer and she is not intimate or emotional. And i know an Aquarius who i would** NOT** describe as rational and objective.
Naqsa.......Astrologers, palmists, fortune-tellers, and horoscopes all used a method called the P.T. Barnum Effect. In this method, the astrologers/horoscopes word their tellings and descriptions in a way that fit most people. And some people fall for this trick.
For example.....I might read a description for LEO....that says, "You are very passionate, but sometimes you are lazy. You are generous with your loved ones but then you can also be careful how you spend your money."
^ The truth is that such a broad description fits most people....not just Leo's. Many people are passionate sometimes....and lazy during other times. Many people can be generous one day....and careful with their money the next day.
See what I mean?
A fortuneteller might say something like, **"Your childhood was a mixture of happy and sad times.....but your teenage years were more challening."
^ Guess what?** Almost everyone's childhood is a mixture of happy and sad. And teenage years are difficult for most people.
The bottom line is that if the Cancer and Aquarius like each other and are compatible with each other (irrespective of horoscopes)...........that's all that matters.

I know that going to fortune tellers and reading your horoscope (if taken seriously) is haram but I'm pretty sure some fortune tellers do have an ability to see the future (off course this doesn't make it right). I think that's why it's also haram, because it would be harder to resist the urge to go to one.
Something freaky that happend to my fiance several years ago, before him and I started dating was he was at a party with his gf (at the time) and he met a palm reader there that told him that he would end up with a girl that is petite and that he is with a girl right now who is preventing him from meeting the girl he is meant to be with. The palm reader had no idea he had a gf. Anyways, he always finds that freaky...as he did end up with a petite girl. I know we aren't supposed to beleive it, but some things are bizaare like that...I wonder how you explain that.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that in Islam it is said the fortune-tellers have connections to the jinns. And the jinns whisper to them a mixture of some truths and many falsehoods. And then fortune-teller shares this info with the client/customer.....some of it is true, some of it is false.
If i'm wrong and someone knows more about this....I'd be interesting in learning.

I have heard some people say that there are fortune tellers etc out there who can genuinely predict the future and know a lot about you. From what I ahve heard, whilst these may be attempts at predicting the future, they are distorted. Distorted in the respect that any extra abilities these fortune tellers have become distorted due to the messages they receive or can tap into are intermingled with the shaitaan working his magic and when the messages comes from the heavens to earth, again various degrees of intermingling occurs and whilst some of what these people say may be true, some things won’t be.
Whether Allah has blessed people with this gift, only Allah knows. However our religion also teaches us that our kismet is pre-determined to some degree. The relationship between an individual and Allah is highly personal and sacred in its own right. If we have problems/issues/anxieties/want to ask something or we want something, who better to turn to than Allah himself and not to intermediaries.
One things about horoscopes I have never understood is that, humans are all unique and individual, how can these generic categories apply to each individual:konfused:It can’t.

Description of a particular Zodiac sign isn't used to predict the future. It pretty much sums up what qualities people belonging to that particular signs have in common...of course it doesn't fit all people.
If you doubt the credibility of this information, feel free to ignore it. From my experience, it can be useful and informative.

You are absolutely right, relationships should not be based on this information alone. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with viewing a situation from various perspectives or schools of thought.

Majority of us on this board are Muslim, and Muslims don't believe in zodiac or give it any importance/seriousness. You can do a simple search in teh religion forum or any where online to back up this clam. However, if you are not a Muslim, and you follow a religion that does follow astrology, I apologize if my question seemed to mock your beliefs, BUT also keep in mind your audience who may not find zoadiac to be a part of their beliefs.

Most Muslims do not believe in utilizing any resource that can be used to predict the future. Thsi would be haraam.
Description about a zodiac sign cannot be used to predict what will happen in anyone's life in 5-10 years.
There are plenty of t.v. shows on Pakistani television networks that focus on astrology (not Zodiac signs in paricular). I don't see how such shows would be on air in a country like Pakistan where the mojority thinks this is haram.

I don't read the horoscopes because I think they are more haram because they are written with the purpose of foretelling the "future".
However, i do read the descriptions sometimes just for the fun of it. Although I personally don't believe them because often times I can see the PT. Barnum strategy in them. And also because my own LEO description doesn't describe me well, so I don't take it too seriously.

We just think that ultimately compatibility depends on the two individuals regardless of astrological signs and descriptions. If the two people like each other and get along, then that's what matters most.

I can understand reading ur horoscope for fun, but as if there are not a million other factors to consider when choosing a partner--using birthday is narrowminded and riduclous actually. But hey to each their own. Whatever makes you happy
by teh by, Pakistan indulges in alot of activities that are not a part of our religion but very much in tune to our culture.

My parents are cancer-aquarius and they are super polar opposites..needless to say, their relationship was not succesful. Just thought I'd share.
