Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

Driver suing the teenage boy she struck and killed for ‘emotional trauma’ - Americas - World - The Independent

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

Was she issued a traffic violation ticket?
This will be interesting to follow.
I wonder what makes her think that she is justified in her position.
Were the boys doing something wrong? Were they disorderly and not following the rules of the road?
Was it dark and the roadway unlit? (1:30 am would mean dark and from what I recall about that area…the road may not have been lit very well. then again, the headlamps should have provided enough light.)

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

what a __ person.

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

I guess all of the above might be true. If that is the case then though she may have reasons to be angry, but suing the dead boy and his family is too insensitive.

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

I agree.
She may have grounds to sue the city but she is definitely out on a limb here…

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

I think the boys were driving wearing dark clothes with no lights and no way to be recognised by someone approaching in a vehicle.

Saying that its a tragedy and suing is doing nothing but aggravating everything and making matters worse for the family of the boys and herself.

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

her actions to sue is both outlandish and outrageous.

having said that, i am very critical of the way young kids ride bicycle on city streets as well as on two-lane high speed regional roads, where there is no bicycle lane and road shoulders have gravel which forces them to avoid going on it and as a result they stay on well inside of the edge of the road leaving very little space for motorists, especally with oncoming traffic from the other side. a lot of them drive carelessly. they seem to follow no rules.

ame goes with some motorcyclists who try to speed and find little crevices in the traffic to put their front wheel in. i hate summer for this very reason.

firstly, i think the government should not allow bicyclists on regional road with speed limits of over 70 km/hr and must build bicycle lanes. secondly, the youths must get extra training/education as how to drive bicycles on regional roads safely.

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

For anyone who didn’t read the entire article.

Not only did she ran over one of the sons, but another of their sons overdosed on pills and liquor and died in his sleep as he couldn’t handle the loss of his brother.

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

What the &*^%#. Sad loss for the family though who lost 2 sons.

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

She is probably countersuing in response to Cameron suing her. Probably a defense tactic. Of course I don’t know who sued first.

For those saying lighting was poor could be mitigating factor - one should drive per road and ambient conditions. Ditto if boys wearing dark clothes. You drive at such a speed u should be able to react to unexpected circumstances. Unless someone in last sec just hurled himself in front of ur car u should be able to avoid hitting them.

She was driving over speed limit in poorly lit road.

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

btw, Toronto Sun is like a tabloid…they are not ‘totally’ trustworthy…it’s a trash newspaper. God knows what the whole story in fact is.

a lot of people buy it for inside cover of half clad women. shame to be called a newspaper.

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

Well I guess that is what you get from a society where you can sue for anything.

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

If I choose to stick my bubblegum on your home bell button, will/should you put me to death for doing just that?

So you’d rather school kids (bachay) for being reckless but not the jaahil old aged motorists doing 90km/h on a 80km/h roadway?

Finally, since when did bicyclists started to do sprints/cruises at 70km/h’s?

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

You guess? Were you built to be concrete?

Society that gives more power to women makes it easier for men to be sued?

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

They’re not totally trustworthy, but somehow you think you are?

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

This has nothing to do with gender. not everything is a gender issue.

They’re not totally trustworthy, but somehow you think you are?

whoa! What’s with the attitude fella?

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

No attitude.

One tried to discredit the source whereas the other chose to put one through unwanted guess’s.

Re: Canadian woman suing the teenage boy she struck and killed

propaganda against Canadians…
