aren't the cartoons available obnline already? anyone can access them anyway? why the need to publish? is it to arouse more controversy?

Well, they said they not only wanted to print them, they wanted also to air it.

This means they are calling again for what they claim "freedom of speech". If they open this door to the media, they will open a gateway that will not be closed for very long time... that will cause cahos around in the Islamic world as well as the non-Islamic countries.

Yes, they do. Like the Egyptian Newspaper Al Fagr that published the cartoons back in October 2005. Are we going to boycott and condemn all of Egypt?

Ahmad G, I called and this is just a survey. It doesn't say they are planning on publishing them and want public opinion first. Furthermore, this survey is being carried out by OMNI (multicultural station), which is quite respectful towards all cultures/faiths. I highly doubt OMNI will publish/display them in any form.

suroor, that's a good question. Btw... a university newspaper somewhere in the Maritimes did publish the cartoon. In addition, a professor at the same university (I believe) posted the cartoon outside his office door, which did cause some problems.

that’s true - i was watching their news broadcast two nights ago, and they held a poll saying whether our media should publish the cartoons…
97% said NO and only 3% said YES…

so i don’t really think it’s gonna happen..

I live in canada. There is a big riot against all this tom. Alot of muslims have gathered together to protest tom.
