If it was chand log the mayor would not have felt the need to write to the parents.

And I am not a negative person, I just hate this hypocrisy and excessive show of religiosity that is so rife in our society.

for instance the very people who talk against secularism (btw does not mean u stop practising your religion. it just means separation of religion and state) will have absolutely no qualms about settling down in ‘secular’ western countries for better livelihood..

If tomorrow both the US and Saudi embassies relaxed their visa restrictions, where do you think the majority of masses will go. Be honest!

Just because mayor responded we can imply without any doubt that the number of people who demanded it were large. And we dont need to check figures. Lolz

Just looking at the election map Trump deserves to be the President; he won 32 states to Hillary’s 18 and it is not just the red states. Hence Trump’s support more representative of America.

Hillary’s vote% is inflated by wins in California and New York which are among the most populous states in America. If popular vote determined election victory, then someone could just win heavily in CA and NY etc. and win the presidency despite not doing so well in other (less densely populated) states! This argument alone counts against popular vote.

Hence US lawmakers came up with the idea of electoral college. It may not be ideal but I think it is still better than popular vote.

Population does matter as, for example, the county that I live in probably has more people than the whole state of Montana.

It is as much about “small states” as US Civil War was about “state rights”. Of course, it isn’t false but like the Civil War where “state rights” explicitly meant per the CSA constitution that slavery was a state right, the small state argument also had to do with the fact that not only did they have less people, but a lot of them were in the South where they counted the blacks as “3/5” for electoral college but didn’t give them the right to vote.
