Canadian Citizenship: time between test/interview and ceremony?

salaam
hru?

those who have received Canadian Citizenship recently [with a couple of years], could you please tell us how long it took for you to actually receive your citizenship documents in a ceremony after your interview/test?

one of the uncles i know had his citizenship interview yesterday. he didn’t have to write test because he is over 55 years of age.

he didn’t get any dates by the judge/staff as to when the ceremony will take place. they simply asked him to wait for the letter to arrive in the mail.

how much time do you think he’ll have to wait? uncle is very worried/concerned.

thank you.

regards

Re: Canadian Citizenship: time between test/interview and ceremony?

Expect 2-4 months for oath ceremony if he passes the test and does not get asked to provide more info.

You can always order GCMS (ATIP) electronic notes of his file/case to check things.

Check eCAS (online status) every week to see if oath letter is mailed out and ceremony scheduled](http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp)

thank very much, GujraNwaale. he is over 55 years of age so he is exempt from writing the tests…his documents were complete.

let’s hope it will be sooner than 4 months.
