I’m going to attempt to be the voice of reason in this thread. 
As a Canadian, I can honestly say that many Canadians love going down to the States on long weekends and for extended vacations. There are some fantastic spots in America … Vegas, Arizona, California, New York, Chicago just to name a few.
Same can be said for Americans … many of whom love travelling to areas like Quebec, B.C. and snow boarding/skiing up in the rocky mountains.
Let us try and be pleasant neighbours. 
Both countries have a lot to offer. Although, our currency IMHO is prettier cause it’s more colourful.

Anywayz (to those implying ivy leagues and all suck), to most international students who want to go abroad, their first choice is the US. And yes, its not about connections, go attend a Electrical engineering course in Stanford, and you will find out why they stand out unique. Its not meant for average, or even good students, its meant for the cream. Ofcourse, if the visa gets rejected, u can always apply to Canada or Britain. Still, the number of international students in the US is way way more than that in Canada, like I said before, its a no contest.

Canadians have also fought for their country and proven themselves in battle for the ally's, so don't give me that crap. In fact, Canadians fought and won twice to prevent ourselves from becoming American. The 2 most important wars in Canadian history if you ask me.
