Canada in the Winter

Is it really depressing, cold and grey? I was there last to last year, and didn’t feel it much since it was already February and moving around in a car, one doesn’t notice the temperatures. I am fearing it even more since I haven’t experienced winter in 2 years … just so happens I switched hemispheres at the right timings. I don’t like the cold!!

Please make me feel better about bearing the Canadian winter and name all the highlights. I will probably be making use of the public transport system as well (:frowning: I hate public transport).

Re: Canada in the Winter

LOL

dude just bundle up and if you wanna see places or go clubing, i will name a few.

its not really that bad, after couple of days.. and how can you not like snow.

Re: Canada in the Winter

:konfused: hmmm where abooot in Canada eh? Which city eh?

Re: Canada in the Winter

Well the snow is really pretty to look at, and all the houses look so cute - like something out of a fairytale and you feel like you're in a snow globe, but stepping out of the house bundled up in 10 layers of clothes isn't my thing - im very much a jeans and t-shirt sort of person. :(

clubbing in the winter? lol is that how you keep warm?

Re: Canada in the Winter

most probably Toronto ...

Re: Canada in the Winter

I don’t know why I’m going. when I could be having a sun shining summer right here at home.

Re: Canada in the Winter

Leave the tees home, take a sledge instead.

Re: Canada in the Winter

A sledge? Will you be my rednosed reindeer?

Re: Canada in the Winter

^catty, ahmadjee is not gay, so he wont do to pull your sleigh.

According to popular belief, rudolph the red-nosed reindeer is known for his flamingly flamboyant gayness.

Re: Canada in the Winter

No, but I am sure you will find plenty over there. khehe

Re: Canada in the Winter

:hoonh: It seems I will be trudging along with the sleigh by my poor little self.

Re: Canada in the Winter

Depends on how South African winters feel. Canadian winters weren’t too bad after 15 years of bone-chillingly damp English ones.

At least here if you wrap up you stay warm, since it’s a dry cold rather than a damp one. Just watch out for the windchill. You don’t want to have exposed skin.

I was fine in:

  1. Jeans.
  2. Thick Socks
  3. Hiking Boots
  4. Sweatshirt
  5. Thick fleece-lined leather jacket
  6. Warm hat
  7. Scarf to cover my neck and face
  8. Thermal gloves

I’ll take you winter shopping when you get here

Re: Canada in the Winter

^ see I told you, you will find your reindeer catty. :D

Re: Canada in the Winter

heyyyyyyyy take my thread back dammit

Re: Canada in the Winter

Nooo, all threads that deal with relocating to another city go in T&T … it’s always been like that.

Re: Canada in the Winter

Mehnaz, have I told you lately that you are one of my fav. guppans?

Re: Canada in the Winter

But I was lamenting over the sad situation and was trying to gain some sympathy, which is not possible in a cold-blooded forum like “Travel and Tourism”.

:snooty:

Re: Canada in the Winter

I did leave a re-direct Catty. :halo:
