I am learning how to eat with chop sticks but I looks ‘special’ whilst doing it :confused:

Can you eat with chopsticks?

How long did it take you to learn?

Can you eat rice and noodles without making a mess?

I can use chopsticks and can pick up each grain of rice one at a time.... Aparently they were developed to make your meal last longer and so that you would pinch the jiuces out of the grain/strand.

Oh and I can throw a single chopstick like a dart... if I get the distance just right I can get it imbeded in stuff but it kind of ruins the chopstick.

I learned it after about an hour and a half or so. If you live near Birmingham there is a decent China Town and some of the vegetarian restaurants are just lush… :yummy:

I also know a decent restaurant just outside of London city its called Hoo Hing and that place is awesome… to learn to eat with chopsticks is not that hard you just need some patience and a kind tutor.

I was taught by a So Hie lookalike so its natural that I be good… but even I cant catch a fly with my chopsticks… not that it would be any good to eat with them afterwards anyway but hey… :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmmm never been to Bhams china town! Interesting will pay it a visit.

I LOVE japanese food. LOVE LOVE LOVE. So I really want to go and not be like ermmm im special I need a fork.

I get finger cramps from chop sticks :/

I taught my kids (not really)....I just handed them chopsticks and they became really good with them after a while, guess kids pick up these things quicker.

Kids are amazing at picking up new skills!!

Us oldies take a longer time :(

^ Oh If you do visit China town in Brum you will love it especially the Soya + Noodle Cafe, oh and theres no better way to enjoy the takeaway than going to the kung fu cinema and watching some old gold… I heard they might have got rid of the cinema though, good times I had there.

As for Japanese food I cant stand some of the Sushi dishes but others are okay, just dont mention Japanese cuisine or anything remotely Japanese at an old school Chinese restaurant. :stuck_out_tongue:

How do you get cramp with chopsticks? Your not supposed to grip them just balance and pinch :slight_smile: Try to be fluid in the way you move your hands.

Hahah thanks for the tutorial.

In terms of japanese more than sushi I like things like tempura, teriyaki, katsu currys etc etc.

I am not a great fan of ginger so Chinese food I am a bit iffy with.

I really like oodles of noodles at star city though!

Oh yeah I used to love Star city but dont remember oodles and noodles, must be a fairly new place. Right I'll chick it out when I next visit Brum.
