Can anyone just go and live in Swat? Or do they hate other non swat people, and is it hard to survive there…to be able to eat and whatever…

if u have ur own land in swat then i don't see why not but it's not a good idea setting camp on someone elses property.
i've been to swat and although it's good for vacation i wouldn't want to live there, my heart is in my village, my own soil, amongst my own people, we have lots of land i might build a little farm ranch on it away from all the crap, cultivate a spot of land and grow me own stuff, get a herd of sheep and goat, a few buffalloes, cows, some chickens and a mule and a dog and live off fatta the land.. most abcds or even fobs nowadays wont be able to manage any of that, it's robust men like me who can.
u've got me thinking now, i've never been a city person, don't like urban people and their posh ways, i'm right down to earth myself, money and luxuries just make u evil and lust for more and more, causes depression and stress and ****, simplicity is best.

I’ve always wanted to just dump this city life and go settle in one of those valley places. Sucks though you cant do it when you have more than yourself depending on you. But it would be a nice getaway.. forever.
And yeah escape from GS too.

Attackistan, Yes anyone can go and live in Swat. You can rent a house....village houses or modern villa type houses. You can also buy land (taking into consideration pakistan real estate purchase laws) and build your own...the valley land is generally more expensive than higher land on the mountains/hills.
You will find that Swati people are very open and friendly although they can also have those delightful Pathan traits that you will find all over the North west Frontier ie bloody mindedness, belligerence etc.
Food wise Swat is a very agricultural place and they grow a variety of fruit and veg ...so you can get a wide variety of fruit and veg depending on the seasons and some are imported from places like the Punjab...ie mangoes.
You will need to go to larger towns like Mingora for chocolate, crisps, drinks cakes and buiscuits etc there are nice restaurants in the more expensive hotels and you'll find the usual tea and snack stands and cafes sellings things like chapli kebabs.
The pace of life is slower than the city and most people are asleep by 9 o clock in the evening.
There are no pizza huts/mcdonalds or other junk food type establishments.

My husband is from SWAT and owns a lot of land in that area. When he gets tired of being in America, he is packing us all up and going home. From what he says, it is a beautiful place with nice people.
