I am planning with few friends of mine to visit egypt. Total 4 - 6 people and estimated duration of the trip 8 days..
So just wanted to know wot do you think will be expected expenditure per person. Which places we should visit and any other tips from your experience regarding guides and services and savings…

Depends where your coming from, how much you wana enjoy and what are your own plans ... on doing what and why .. what made you choose egypt as a holiday ..... so taking all this in consideration ......can only then be worked out how much you lll need to spend ... where to spend ... where to go ...etc ..and accommodation -- where there is accommodation already sorted ...what services will they provide.. ...
Basically ... the more sugur u put in the sweeter is ... so its all about what you want ....

The two cities that have most attraction for tourists are Cairo and Alexandria. Can't say about expenses coz my trip was sponsored but cairo was pretty expensive by Pakistani standars so shopping won't be much fun.

i think it was a guided tour sorts, but she said they were really good and she had a good time there. per person cost was arnd 750 USD i think. chk the site, you’ll get a good idea abt planning ur itinerary.

looks like it, but why not call or email them to ask if u can join them in egypt and what your cost would be? i have done that with some tours… they’re usually okay with it. i think as long as u have student ID, STA will probably take you. where are u located?
secondly, it was just a suggestion for you, itinerary wise. the way tours agencies plan out their routes and schedules can help you plan your trip even if you’re not going with them.
i once traveled to europe with cosmostours.com, they’re good but more expensive. you can usually save some money by purchasing your own airfare instead of letting them buy it for you. here, chk this:

excluding airfare, tour prices run arnd 900-1000 USD for an 8 day land only trip. that’s abt 125 USD per day including meals, sightseeing and transportation.

thanks for ur help and time.. i can’t find the email on their site.. they mention Dubai site also… i will try to contact their dubai support center and see if it can help..
Btw any one has any idea how much should be the per person per day cost… yea i will get from them too.. but just wanted to ask if anyone have a rough idea, till i get a response from them, to get some measure to test ur price from cheap to expensive scale..

get the lonely planet books AND check out their forums. very informative on daily costs and ways to keep costs low. You can do this without a tour group...it's cheaper and most Egyptians speak english...just be smart about bargaining.
I bargained for the taxi, souvenirs etc.

for some reason i can't edit post. ok lonely planet tells u hotel recs from budget to moderate to expensive..same for food. Also gives advice on what to see/do.
