hi just wanted to ask can your 3,4 year old kid distinguish between right and left shoe?

My almost 4 yrs. old cannot, she always puts them on the wrong way.

3 years one can't.

4 years one can.

My daughter was able to do this at the age of 2.5.
My newphew is 3.5 but still tries to put the left shoe on the right foot.

These types of comparisons are highly subjective and really shouldn't be made.

Now if you have a 5 year old that is still not able to distinguish......investigate.

i agree with Muzna...comparing wont do any good. every child develops at different times. one of my neices can do this at late 2's and one of them cant do it at late 3's. doesnt mean one is better than the other..it all evens out as kids get older.

^Absolutely!! Did I mention my almost 4 yrs. old can actually switch on my laptop, open IE and load barbie.com on my browser… and then she goes and put on her shoes backwards :cb:

oh sheesh. Ferget about the kids. I have been known to put the wrong clog on the wrong feets! Take 3 young boyz, kindergarten thru 3rd grade, give in to an extra 10 minutes of sleep in the morning, discover we;re outta coffee and voila. Wrong shoes on wrong feets.

dont worry... every kid is different :) dont stress... some kids are so busy doing other things these lil things dont matter to them. Then there are others who notice lil lil things quite easily... I wouldnt stress

some can and some can't. each child is different.

On my lazy days I still like to put wrong shoes on wrong feet :halo:

dont worry about that wrong shoes …these incidents are there to enjoy and not to worry. Some kids learn it early some dont but eventually they will.

My son learned it when he was around 3 and my daughter (who we call FITNA when compared to son ..she is that intelligent mashallah), does it wrong many times and she is almost 4.

Whenever she does it wrong and one of us tries to fix it she goes “see baba I tricked you” and I am sure she does it on purpose now many time :smack:

So that is why some people walk pigeon toed all their life...........:D

Actually the remedy for being severely pigeon-toed is to wear the shoes the wrong way round. Actually recommended by a couple of pediatricians. And it makes sense if you can visualise it.

This is only for children BTW. Will not work for adults.

My nephew was wearing his shoes the wrong way and people used to point it out to his mum. We actually got tired of telling people that this is on doc's recommendation.
