Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

This MJ case got me thinking is there any laws against women for sexual harassment?

Judging from a few films (an Indian one and an Italian one; Malena) which portray young boys with older women it seems like it’s acceptable for women to go with young boys but not for men to go with younger girls.

Or in hospitals and stuff, women are allowed to shower both genders whilst men only male patients.

Isn’t that a bit sexist and hypocritical?

Re: Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

I don't know if you heard about this case, but a female school teacher in US was jailed for six years for having sexual relations with her 12 year old student. Her name is Mary Kay Letourneau. They had two babies together before she went to prison. After being released, the two finally married, recently.

Several other cases of female teachers having sexual relations with their male pupils have to come to light in the last few months, and will likely be prosecuted.

Bottom line, there are laws to protect minors from both male and female sexual predators.

Re: Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

Your second point about female nurses taking care of male and female patients, while male nurses only "allowed" to work with male patients... seems to have nothing to do with sexual harassment or paedophilia. I understand your point, but am not sure what has that got to do with the title of this thread. Please clarify your thought process.

Re: Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

Male nurses work with boht male and female....male and female doctors work with boht...BUT i.e. my gyn always has a 2nd person there both when i've had male and female drs.

Re: Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

Yeah, that's kind of a weak argument about nurses. CNA's and ER techs and other such workers have to deal with both men and women and there is no gender restriction for these jobs. And they get to see people nude all the time.

Same with doctors. A female or male doctor can examine you if you're male or female.

If you request otherwise, then its different.

I think special treatment is given to girl patients when it comes to male hospital crew, since different cultural backgrounds have different thoughts on the matter. Also, girls are shy to take off their shirts in hospitals whereas for men, who cares?

We have boobs, they don't.

So, it just makes procedures different for men and women in hosptial and clinical settings. No biggie. I've seen men naked in hospitals, and my male doctor friends and male nurses have seen females naked. It depends on the nature of the case. If the clothes need to come off for diagnosis/treatment, then they need to come off.

Re: Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

^ It may sound harsh, but if anyone refuses medical treatment because they’re “uncomfortable” well then they can just be sick. It’s a childish mentality that some people have. Even Islam doesn’t prohibit females from having male doctors; many Muslims take things too far. They don’t think about why something is wrong but just that it is wrong. Alcohol is haram, so is wearing perfume and lotion. Premarital sex is wrong, so is talking to a guy, looking at a guy and letting a guy treat you for a sickness or teach you at university.

Re: Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

how do u take the alcohol analogy to the male doctors for female patients????

if u think alcohol in perfume is dumb than what is ur take on alcohol in bread/other food which do not actually intoxicate the consumer????

btw, men and women (who r not bound by mehram relationship) r not allowed to be together in a solitary place....
this comes from hadith and is very much approved by all scholars of Islam (the newly defined moderate and enlightened versions not included)....
male doctors r allowed if no female doctor is available and the circumstances do require urgent attention....
otherwise i dont think why it shud even be allowed if u can have urself examined by a doctor of the same gender....

Re: Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

Cuz theyre out to prove a point yaar.

Re: Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

I used alcohol to prove a point: people will do stupid things that end up harming themselves because they dont understand why something is forebidden. Maybe not using perfume/lotion won’t harm someone in the long run, but refusing treatment because you dont’ want to be examined by a man is stupidity. I’m not going to seek a male doctor specifically just to “prove a point” but I wouldn’t refuse treatment from one either. You’re right about the relationships btw men adn women but a doctor-patient hardly counts as one. No doctor in his or her right mind will lust after a female patient

Re: Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

^Rightly said...The example given before was stupidity...

Re: Can women be prosecuted for paedophilia/sexual harassment?

You are right it is harsh. That is precisely why we have female doctors, every one has their own comfort zone what is it to you if some women prefer female doctors? people on gs get too hot too quickly tsk!
