Can wealth bring happiness or satisfaction?

Hi all guppies. As it is evident from the title the question is about wealth. Many people say that u cannot buy everything from wealth; true but there are many other things that can be bought from wealth too. For instance if someone is ill then his medication requires money, good education requires a lot of funding and so on…What do u all think about this complex reality?

You're right, its complex. Money cannot buy happiness but it can help. It all depends on what your circumstances are, what you want the money for etc. It is definitely not a cure-all for every unhappiness in life, yeah? It can make things so much easier in so many ways like what schools, what activities, what vacations and luxuries you have. But like I said, if you think that its a cure-all for all unhappiness, you're sadly mistaken. There was actually a news program a while back on multi-million dollar lottery winners. They interviewed 6 or 7 winning families.....only ONE of these families actually came out happier after winning. The others were happier BEFORE they won the money!!

Ya never know, you know?

IT is utter, UTTER, Utter, Bull SHEIT!!!!!!that you cant buy everything with wealth, especially in Pakistan you can also buy mother's love with wealth. I have seen it with my own two eyes.

sorry, one more thought. I always read this photocopied paper in our doc's office about wealth. It says something like:
If you have:
-A roof over your head
-warmth in winter, clothes on your back and shoes on your feet
-3 meals a day
-meat at least twice a week

Then you can consider yourself in the top TEN PERCENT of wealtiest individuals on the planet.

Amazing! I dont actually know if its true or not. Imagine if it is though! that 90 percent of the people on the planet DO NOT have the things listed above. Makes me feel rich indeed.

Pakora! my goodness. You're having a bad week so far. Over the xmas holiday, I met this beautiful blondie woman who was I guess you could say "filthy rich", owns 6 pricey houses, lives on the beach, just drips money. She was the saddest, most heartbreaking individual I've ever met. Personal circumstances play such a major role. And money can buy breastmilk and attention but NOT the love of a mother.

unfortunately ours is a very materialistic society....
most ppl in thir dworld countries DO equate $$ with happiness..because their circumstances are so miserable, htey are lacking one very imp thing and that's happiness..cant really blame em for thinking money equals happiness....

.No!! No!! Dear, its experience talking, I don’t want to go into details because of personal issues. But I have seen this guy abandon his mother for $3200 only. The mother in question, got widowed when she was 30 and raised this "piss pathetic" son , on her own for 20 years just to be abandoned by him for $3200.

...and my point proven again - that it all comes down to personal issues and circumstances. I'm not asking you to post the issues of the people you mentioned but it sounds like there are indeed many personal issues there. And did the money make that mother happy and resolve all of her issues? I'd think it most likely that it didnt....and if it did then she is an exception and I hope she got her "moneys worth" for a lifetime :(

yaa money matter alots .....u have wealth ..u can manage ur life in a better way ...but again everything has its importance....

and money is above all ..hehe

It seems as though you are blaming the mother, I am sorry to say that it clearly shows that you don’t know “jack” about the Pakistani society or its people, you haven’t lived here at all. Your interpretation is solely European/American, ( I think OG would have given a better insight). The societies are different, the social structures are different, the attitudes are different, and most of all the mind set’s are totally different than what you experience in the west.

PS: Like me live in both the societies and than reach a conclusion.

Its when you love wealth/money allot it changes from "Zar" to "Zaar" :)
