Can we live together?

salaam to everyone

I am starting this topic coz i see alot of hatred amonog different pakistani ethinic groups towards each other. If we look at the history of pakistan our country was created by british and we were there slaves. In our 60 years old history we have done nothing for islam, infact we have killed lot of moslims and the killing is still going on. Pakistan was created for moslims, but we see no islam in pakistan. For example look at the prostitute in derra mandhi in lahore should this be possible in country which is called the islamic republic of pakistan.

Pakistan have done nothing for moslim umma, infact they have helped the kuffar in destrorying other islamic countries a good and recent expamle will be afghanistan. we destroyed afghanistan we helped the kuffar to attack afghanistan. We were in war with india as well did they helped india? NO.

What goes around comes around.

Re: Can we live together?

 I commend you for starting this thread.

I believe the reason is that many Pakistanis take their ethnicity too seriously. It is good and you should be proud if you are Mohajir, Punjabi, Phatan, Shia, Sunni etc. It’s great to have diversity but, it shouldn’t be make into inferior or superior class. This is where the major problem starts and I believe the reason for ethnic violence. There are many extremists that start violence but, in recent decade the majority of Pakistanis have fallen into this superior, inferior class dilemma.

We are Pakistanis & that’s it.

Re: Can we live together?

This is not so simple as to be ascrbide to ethnicity only. The present mindset would have to be changed.

Re: Can we live together?

:k:

As kids we were taught Pakistan is the citadel of Islaam and now look at it, it’s a shame to the Ummah, Pakistanis and Muslims in general have no honor anymore, especially we Pakistanis have stooped so low, Islam is loosing important amongst Pakistanis and the goverment is behind this, I don’t see a reason to be proud of Pakistan anymore, like I said I’d rather be a part of Afghanistan or India, we can’t be worse off than we already are with Pakistan.

The bastrad is going to deport all the foreign Islam students as well, those students when they go back after graduating from our institutions would have given Pakistan a good name in the Muslim Ummah like they have been doing in the past by talking good of our country, they were a part of our culture our landscape, I remmember it was heartwarming seeing all different colors of Muslims from all over the globe in my village, coming to collect their supper from our houses and playing soccer with us, they were bros… Terrorism is only an excuse to get rid of Islam from the country, most of these instituions don’t teach terrorism or suicide bombings and crap, they just teach regular Islam and maybe the Islamic forms of combat, if that’s terrorism then Amreeka and Pakistan should get rid of their armies too. India is taking advantage of this now to get the Muslim world in its favour, it has already increased the quota for foreign Muslim students going into India to study Islam and has lowered their fees.

Re: Can we live together?

Whn was Islamic society ever so pure and pious! Even at the height of Islams glory days, there were prostitutes.. There were people killing, murdering etc.. I mean, massacre that the Shias rememember ever year happend during the time of the Khalfa.. Why does everyone think that an Islamic society is the answer? Trying to turn the world into a Utopia is pointless, its completely impossible., no one will ever be happy... One mans paradise is another mans hell... So lets just accpet things as they are, and try to focus on ones on spiritual well being and leave the country and its people to follow their own natural course...
And for those not satisified with Pakistan because it s not Muslim enough, well one can say is that your never ever going to find any country that is Islamic enough...

Re: Can we live together?

PakPatriot,

There is such a thing as meeting bare minimum of expectations. Although we cannot reasonably expect to be perfect, I think the point is that people make NO effort to make the place any better...in fact, they pay lip service to nationalism or religion to be lazy!

The fact is, Islamic society was at least unified more or less...at least to the extent of managing to progress to be world leaders. That required organization and cooperation. It seems like a problem in Pakistan is that a few people tend to work against each other for their own gain...and the rest suffer for it.

Organization and management is the key...not 'perfection'.

Re: Can we live together?

Any federal system can work together..but it has to be based on some basic concepts of federation...which means equality between the constituting units..that the majority should not be able to impose it's will on the minority arbitarily (its will being checked by a system of checks and balances including independant courts) ..but fundamentally for a state to be successful you need, stability, fairness and justice.

I always use this extremely simplistic example for people to understand what is going on..everyone is invited to this party (Pakistan)everyone wants a piece of the cake ( the cake being power, reprsentation, revenue in Pakistan) ..the problem is some people get more, some get less and some don't get any...ultimately for the party to succeed ..the hosts MUST ensure those who have no cake at all get a proper share or the guests may one day decide to leave the party (and who would blame them? Who wants to be invited to a party and told they can't have the cake?) ..the problems occurs when some say it's the guests fault for not fighting for their share..or when the guests get angry and try to walk out saying they hate the party..

In the end it's a simplistic example..but better than all the facts and arguments ..I find it works best...

Re: Can we live together?

Ok, fair enough, we should strive for a better society.. But I think your wrong to imply that Pakistanis arent striving for a better society. I thin we all do in our own way. But I dont think our lack of Islamic piety is the reason for the precieved deprivation in Pakistan, and I dont think follwoing this “Islamic ideal” is going to work towards a better society. We can do the same by promoting secular and democratic ideals. We can do the same by teaching children the right values in our schools and home. You can only change society through individuals.
I think its pointless in accusing Pakistan of being unislamic, since its not Islam, or the lack there of, that is causing the problem.
Plus, I dont think Pakistan is such bad country.. Yes we arent perfect, in fact we are far from it, we have many many problems… But I think we often forget the goodness in our society and descency of our people. I can give you so many examples of Pakistani generosity and KINDNESS. Who have you ever heard bad mouthing Pakistanis other then Pakistanis themselves… This is another quality I like about Pakistanis, we arent arogant, qualites lacking among some nations.. Even the Indians were flattered when they came here. And the fact that we could give the winning Indian team a standing ovation, while the Indians threw bottles on the field after the Pak victory just says so much about our :“undemocratic” and “unislamic” society…
Indians are satisfied with their country, they seem to ignore the many negatives about their country.. Pakistani sadly are the opposte, they ignore the good in their country..

Re: Can we live together?

Punjab isnt the HOST of the party… And yes, we need better division of power no question…

Re: Can we live together?

come join India and we can live togther :D

Re: Can we live together?

Well, if we did that we would all have the added concern of being slaughtered by fanatic Hindu mobs:)

Re: Can we live together?

We are talking about society over here I think we have a good enough society. The problem is that the government so far in this 50+ history of Pakistan is run by military-bhutto-miltary-nawaz-military. Ordinary man can not dream of higher job, unless we get rid of this by strengthening the government and its democracy the cycle will continue and the real problems of the people are not going to be solved.

Re: Can we live together?

^^^ to all who replied here,

can i ask where are all you guys live??? at present!

Re: Can we live together?

If you like india or afghanistan so much . you can join them and go there.

I dont think many madrassah teach exteremism, its the foreign elements itself who brought this to Pakistan and many of these are living in pak as students of these madrassahs.
remember bali bomber? his brother was arrested in Pakistan while he was student of such madrassahs in Pakistan.

question here is here foreign elements who bring this international exteremism to PAk not other way around. thats the reason to deport them. (though I dont agree with it to implement so blindly at all) and they dont bring foreign investment either as they rather work in pak to finance studies and mostly from african and east asian countries.

other foreign students in Pakistani universities and colleges are not being deported.

keep you hate with you and go where you like to live. thank u very much.

Re: Can we live together?

i agree with PaKpatriot1, considering our muslim club, the only reason for its exsistence is due to pakis, otherwise considering all the other muslims.. there are close to 100 and only us 7-10 pakis bois and grls are takin care of the club.. and leaving our marks in the university...

yea.. we have probs in pak, i mean who doesnt?.. bt first look at ur own self, then worry about the country. Many studies been done by various countries on pakistan.. wonderin how this country is running after soooooo much corruption. and the only reason they give is.. only an external power is running it.. so that external power can only be.. Allah..

neway.. ive seen more islam in pak.. then maybe most other countries.. and again.. there is a population of 140 million, so if 10 million of that.. whcih iwll be less than 10% come on the streets, and do stuff.. dont blame the rest of 130 million. Everyone is responisible for their own iman.. bt ask ur self.. WAT HAVE U DON FOR PAKISTAN??. most ppl on this forum are outside pakistan.. pretty fast at complaining and pickin on pakistan.. bt Wat have u don for pak to make it beta?..

talk is cheap... if u consider other countries beta.. den we area happy to let u go.. as we already have too many kaminas in pak who need to be removed..

allah hafiz
