May from parents point of view its not imposition, but children may take it uncomfortable imposition, if they don’t feel attachment to their parent’s culture

It’s a fine line, if the kids are not taught about their own culture and religion in western society, it’s very easy to lose them. As they will become strangers to their own culture.
