Hey guys i am desperate to find out if this could be done with the help of a software and what sort of software is required to edit the text of a scanend document???

If the text is in a certain format (I think it's calles OCS or something like that) then there are quite a few programs which can scan a document in text format.

yup .. you need an optical character recognition (OCR) program for this ...

I used OCR but the prob is when eva i copy the file in word the text would not appear as in da scan document i hav to readjust every thing again.

If you don’t have an OCR software and you don’t have too much editing needed you can use a graphic editing softwae (e.g. Photoshop, Paint or GIM) you can just wipe out text and replace with new text into the graphic.

Didn’t your scanner come with any OCR software, usually its the lite version, but for minor projects they fit the bill.

yaa offcourse
- u have to install Microsoft Office 2003
- convert ur Scanned document into .TIFF format
- open that image "Microsoft Office Document Imaging"
- go to the tool menu there is an option "Send Text To Word..."
- or u can use the option "Recongnize Text Using OCR..."
The text of ur scanned document will convert into Editable word file.
Note : it will not work on ur hand written documents

hehe i use adobe illustrator for this, tho its not the first choice for most ppl. you can edit pdfs as well with that. but ill jump on the bandwagon and tell you to use an OCR softie.

Even your normal Windows Paint will do a little bit of tweaking.
