My take, don't eat food prepared by kafirs.. eat food prepared by muslims only. I have some Hindu and Sikh friends but when it comes to lunch and dinners, we part our ways. You have to understand that as a muslim you have lot of obligations and eating food prepared by non-muslims is haraam.

So do you never shop in a mainstream supermarket and buy things like bread and tinned baked beans etc which are all more than likely to have been prepared by non-muslims...?
