.. to upload real media files besides Wav and Mp3?

I found out that in many instances, **rm **files are much more compact than MP3. In fact I tried to convert real media files to Mp3 and trying many utilities could not find a way to make it atleast same in size as actual rm file.

It will be a great add to the services IMHO, that is if it is feasible.

I really hope it will be taken in consideration.

Its true that they are more compact. But then there would most likely be a conflict in the players. You would require the user to have Real Player. which everyone should but then its extra for those who dont have it.

Keeping things simple is best. But its upto the admin to decide.

Bizz, I have the software by Boilsoft to convert the files, but it makes the files size very huge. for example a file of 3+ mb was converted to 27 Mb…

I know what you are saying but the reason this thing came in my mind was this… I have two files of Surah Momenoon by Shaik Abu Bakr Ash-Shatry… One is Real Media File and other is MP3.. now real media file is under 1.2 Mb and Mp3 is 4.2 Mb… Having said that the Qirat in Real Media is very beautiful and rythmic and slow. Easy to concentrate whereas Mp3 Qirat is little fast and one can lose concentration on the ayaahs while listening. I wanted to share the Surah but found Real media file much more audible..

I have got hold of that source file for that Real Media clip.
Downloaded it, it was: 1.12 MB
then I converted to MP3: 1.19 MB
Now thats not that big of a difference. I used *Bingo RM to MP3 Wave Converter. *

Here is the converted 1.19MB file:

So where would I get that converter although I see a significant reduction in the quality?

Not a problem.
Regarding your query about implementing .RM files to playback on the site, I can't say anything. Its upto the managemnet, really.

PS. You can certainly have that program.
