Can this be true?

MI5 is accusing Tablighi Jamaat of being responsible for the terrorism in London. Can this be true or does it validate that all you have to do to be a terrorist is have a beard and be all religious?

TJ is lambasted by certain quarters as being too pacifictic and just focused on prayer and preaching. One of the principal and most vocal of those quarters is the saudi/salafi/deobandi group. Theres been threads on Gupshup where the fabulous sectarian tolerance we have was demonstrated in abundance, and the principle detractors were salafies.

Yet this article says TJ is influenced by Salafies and X out of those arrested had been participating in gashts.

Re: Can this be true?

I guess they'll target anyone these days.

Re: Can this be true?

offcourse they are responsible, what you want evidence, proof and facts?

Re: Can this be true?

Read the article - MI5 is not accusing Tableeghi Jamaat. The accusation is that terrorist groups recruit people who are in Tableeghi Jamaat - ie MI5 accuses Tableeghi Jamaat of making people susceptible to be recruited by other, militant, groups.

Re: Can this be true?

The one thing TJ stresses often is that nothing happens on Earth or in the heavans without the knowledge of Allah, and all we see around us is in the eyes of the Almighty; worth less than a one teeney weeney Wing of a Mosquitoe,
That goes against the Grab all you can mentality that most people have.

Re: Can this be true?

I think all of us have to read a book called The Wahabi Myth.

Re: Can this be true?

^ Another one of those anti-Saudi books?
