I also Delete any pics or vids I might have downloaded in My Documents.
My dad, uncle and cousins sometimes use my computer, is there any way they can they still check what I’ve been on (websites, secret email addresses etc.)?..
It depends how much techy is your dad or your relatives are.
It is possible but for that one must have good information how to recover files.
It is also possible if someone has installed a keylogger on the pc to log keys of other users.
System Restore thing is a utility to bring back the system Settings and system files state back to a date when a backup was made. It doesnt effect much on the files you have saved in your pc.
yeap ... key logger are able to send data to remote pc... as u mentioned they can access ur pc physically ... they can install it & add exception in antivirus .. soo u r under constant observation ..
FIX ... make a separate user account for u or for them .. make them guest with lil permissions ...
If you are letting others use YOUR computer, then make sure you create a separate guest/standard user account for them; this ensures that limited settings are in place, and it will not allow any user on the aforementioned accounts to browse anything on your account (your files, cookies etc.)
nosherwan, by deleting temp files and history files your nephews wont be able to find out what yu surfing but better to create a user account so that you can only log in to access the pc
temp folder (clean it out), some files will not delete and that is fine, you can skip them.
clear browser history/cookies/cache
clear “Recent Items” list from start menu bar
and last but not least, empty your recycle bin after you’ve deleted all the above.
This is all cost-free and fairly quick. Also, it’s always a good idea to create secondary accounts for any additional users as Guest.
You can also get this little utility CCleaner. It does all the above for you, including some extra functions like registry cleaning for any outdated tracks.
Simple solution … use any shredder software tht will shred all ur data n log files … after tht file cant b recovered even using any latest recovery software … simple deleted files can easily b recover using any recovery software … this also depends upon ur cousin skills …
for a person like me its nt a big deal to recover all the above kinda data/log files …
