I was wondering if there can be a section or sticky (under Feedback may be) that describes Gupshup? Things such as how and when it was started, the number of active members, how it’s run, a little about the moderators, etc.

There is a thread in cafe, called "Introduction", that has some information about members, not necessarily just mods. You, or anyone else, can PM the cafe mods with their details and have the information posted there.
It's hard to have a forum or a sticky with mods information in it because just like members, some mods do not feel comfortable sharing information about themselves in public. We can't force them to do so. However, the thread in cafe was started with the same idea in mind and members/mods can voluntarily have their information posted there.

But what about Gupshup itself? Can an introduction be added about the site in the same sticky as well which answers some of the FAQ’s?

^ For that, I agree with you. Not in feedback though, we should have a link on top (next to "Profile". "Help", "cal" etc.) , called "About Us".

Right. It's really up to the Admins to decide as to where it should be, but I agree with you that a link at the top would be good.

sure, there was a front page which is no longer up, the day I get azkar's neck between my hands it will be back up.

There were even small description and history of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal back in the days.

ya...mein azkar kay larray lappaon say tangaa gaya hoon, humesha goli fit kar detahai. I may just have soemone else develop it and ask azkar to upload it.
