the docs say my 1 yr old can have and should have the measles jab here in pak.
and then go uk ( we going march) abd have her MMR there. is this ok? no one seems to know the answr.

You can get MMR in Pakistan at 12 months or just get the measles in Pakistan and get MMR in UK, if you really want to get the immunization in UK. Either way it is fine.The window for MMR is b/w 12- 15 months. However you should give your child some immunity for measles for the 3 months she is in Pakistan.
The thing is if you will mention the doctors that I am off to UK in 3 months, they will probably give you some options to make a choice. It is s not that they don’t have any answers.

Well i faced the same questions…in canada they dont give a measles vaccine as stand alone vaccine but with MMR that is usually not given before 12 months. The thing is measles is not that common in canada but now that i am in pakistan where measles activity is high i have decided to go with a vaccine at 9 months and then i will be having the MMR at 12 months.
