fasting is fard but a number of days of roza can be skipped [to be compensated at a later date] if your or the baby's health is adversely affected/compromised/jeopardized due to fasting.

I am not an islamic scholar but I don't think a pregnant or breast feeding mother should fast. There have been many threads on this issue. Everyone has their own opinion.

It's allowed to make up fasts for a pregnant or nursing woman at a later date. If a pregnant or nursing woman feels that she can keep up with fasting , she can do that too.

You just have to use your common sense. Where I live, fasts are 19 hours long. If I go without even one meal and snacks inbetween, I tend to throw up so I can't leave my stomach empty. And for some reason, my little one seems to get frustrated and kicks me harder. I am serious!
That plus, I am the one who has to take care of myself, my unborn baby and my home because no family lives with me or closeby to look after me. Hubby has work + fasting. Neither of us can afford to fall sick. No matter how much I want to fast, is it really worth the risk? I don't think so. So for me, I am definitely making up for it later inshallah after the baby is born.

I dont understand when Allah has given ease why don't eligible people take advantage of it.

Are you asking from a religious perspective or asking to see if it is possible(physically)? In both cases, yes.

have to agree with all of the above. when god has given you a reprieve (doesn't that tell you how important pregnancy and nursing times are for you and baby?) then why insist on fasting? looking to earn brownie points/extra credit?
our religion is beautiful, simple and applies common sense in pretty much everything it teaches us. use YOUR common sense.

Its up to you...you can try if you want to.
I would not though because I know myself...pregnancy is hard enough as it is...add 18 hour rozas to it and you might as well not get out of bed for the day. But that's just me and how I felt when I attempted it. It just wasn't working for me.

I know of ladies who bf during pregnancy or nursing. up to you. you know your state better.

When Allah has given you ease in a matter, why would you choose the harsh way for yourself. You are not doing any ehsaan on Allah by fasting while you are pregnant, but rather rejecting the gift that Allah has allowed you.
