i recently discovered tht a friend cuts himself and says that cutting and seeing himself bleed helps him reduce stress and pain that’s in the heart..it’s really not right and forbidden in islam too..are there more people out there who do this? how can i convince him to stop doing this? koi aur tariqa he dard mitaa ne ka?

Your friend requires the help of a therapist. People cut themselves for various reasons.
1) They do it because they have so much pain inside themselves that they can't find a proper outlet for it.
2) They do it because they want to take their mind off their emotional pain....by inflicting pain. Seeing the blood...and the physical injuries...temporarily takes their mind off emotional issues,
3) Cutting can become ADDICTIVE. You wanna know how? Because when you cut yourself.....your blood releases chemicals called endorphins...and these produce a sensation of euphoria or temporary happiness.
**4) **They have low self esteem. They feel that they are a bad person and cut themselves as self-punishment.
5) Unless they cover their arms and hide their injuries from others......it CAN (although not always) indicate a need for attention.
Cutting is dangerous........because you never know when the person might cut just a little to deep....(artery) and require immediate medical assistance. Talk to your friend and support him/her. There are many healthy ways to let out emotional pain (journal writing, talking to others, etc).
Self-mutilation is not allowed in Islam at all. There is hadith which states that after a soldier was in so much agony because of the wounds he sustained in a battle. He thought the pain was sooooo unbearable that he took his own weapon and killed himself. Allah forbade him paradise for taking his life. Self-harm is not allowed.

Your friend needs to be seen by a mental health professional....Convincing him maybe be hard....but if he trusts you well, he may listen to your advice. If you guys are in school, school's counselor can help.Talk to the counselor to maybe talk to him.
This form of behavior only worsens with time.

i appreciate all yr advices..i cant talk to the school councillor cause then his family may be called..and tht would make things worse as he would hate me for tht and wont trust me..he doesnt have anyone to talk to abt his problems..he's a loner..and he doesnt trust me enough i guess..

This attitude depicts mentally disturbed behavior. Best bet will be to visit a psychiatrist. This is not a rare case, quite a few people develop this problem. Perhaps very disturbed and unable to express.

- That is why when we cut we feel Pain and it hurts where that happniess go which we can't see. LOL

Correction self low esteem can't do cutting to himself. Do you want to know why? As self low esteem person in his every work have no confidence. If they fail in anything they think theyaren't able to do that thing. So they won't go for that.
Ppl who are very confident and if they had in mind that they are for sure gona get that and when all of a sudden they get reverse answer or thing. They think they are a failiure they were suppose to get that and didn't get that and why may be they had worked wary hard and was sure that he will get that reward so he feels he is the qusoorwar and that way they give himself Saza. That saza is cutting himself.
That kind of ppl are strong ppl. So it's hard to help them.
The best way to ease his pain. Friend is the best way to ease him. Better to talk about that thing. And tell him it's not you are qusoorwar.
No matter he believe you that much or not you can help him and try to ask help from his best friend if he has one. If not you help him.
Better to tell his parents no matter what. There might be someone is tonting about the loss or something. They will better help him.

Gr8heera…it is known that the brain releases chemicals called endorphins which is like adrenaline when people cut. These chemicals provide pain relief and a sense of happiness/well-being/and even euphoria. That’s why they say that people who exercise regularly tend to be more happy…because even during exercise…endorphins are released. Endorphins are your body’s natural pain reliever. You can look it up if you want. And there is a very strong link between low self-esteem and cutting. Just because a person fails at some things in his life…doesn’t mean he will fail AT EVERYTHING including cutting. Look on the internet and you’ll find the research regarding the psychology behind why people cut. There are many reasons why people cut.

I known a same case too, my cousin used to make cut on his arm with Hunter Knife (its goes deep) ... for her love.
His logic was, that he do it for her.. he cried .. for hours but don't stop making scar's .. open again.... i wonder if real love cost this... then my previous 23 gf's indeed were not real love !... sigh

Striver , dude , you BETTER be quick and tell someone what your friend is doing ... coz cases like him only get worse by the day ... and before he does something stupid , tell his family so someone can do something to bring him out of his misery ...
When i was in the boarding house , this girl next door , had this issue , she would hold a bulb and squeeze it in her hand until it broke and then she used to watch herself bleed and used to cry and cry ... I thought she was a freak ! such people do need urgent help ....
