Re: Can Pak ever catch up to India Militarily?
India's economy is about 10 times biggerand the annual growth rate is 9% !! In other words 'every year India's economy adds the total GNP of Pakistan" .
Once this simple truth dawns on the Pakistan people - it would realise the only option is to make peace with India.
Freeze the issues such as Kashmir, and stop wasting money on Military assets, concentrate on Economy & education.
Unfortunately, we cannot expect Generals to do this. All this would go - the power, the privaliges, prestige, land scams, money etc
So the first step is - get rid of the Military Dictators. Get the civilians in charge of the country.
Pak only needs enough weapons to defend itself... Defending is far simpler then attacking.
And secondly, its Pakistan that is pursueing peace, while its India that dragging its feet.
Perhaps its India that should give up on its Kashmir policy and stop wasting its money military assets and concentrate on your economy and education.
Pakistan should certainly spend more on these two areas, but no one in Pakistan is going to roll over and die while India continues trying to impose itself on the subcontinent.
What reason does India have for expanding its military and spending so much on Arms?
