my contacts in spa/sauna/steam room??? I hv tried it a couple of times but after some minutes they start drying up. I can put drops in eyes but I jus wana know whether it’s harmful 2 wear lenses in such places or not.
n if we are discussin the topic tell me another thing that can take along my ipod also

hmmm...u shudnt realy experience dryness!...in fact it ought 2 be the other way round...thnk about it...in a steam room/sauna- theres alot more hydration in teh atmosphere-therefore if anything u should be getting a bit of extra "water" 2 ur eyes....and ur ipod-it'll go bust miss....then what u gonna do!?

i think it works the same way as taking a shower while wearing contacts. it's just going to dry them out. so you shouldn't be wearing them there. i know that when i first started wearing contacts the lady told me that don't take showers with the contacts in.

ur point seems logikally correct but how come my eyes get dry after some time n i just get an urge to get the contacts out

im a 3 s man…shower…$hit and a shave…dont ever get then chance 2 have these long showers…

I had asked my doc abt it. He told me to avoid wearing lenses in places like spa/sauna/steam room. The reason other then dehydration which he gave was more on lines of like our glasses get foggy in the mist n we get an urge to clear em off similarly the steam can cover the lenses which not only makes the vision blurry but it also clogs the tiny lil pores in the lenses, these pores are used by our eyes for breathing n i always thot that the nose was suppose to do this function

Get a pair of glasses you people! Stop abusing your eyes like that... I know a girl whose contacts almost melted in her eyes while she was in the steam room. Doctors weren't able to remove them without any permenant damage. Needless to say, she lost her eyesight for something so stupid.
O and don't take shower with contact lenses in your eyes either. You will end up dislocating them and you will find yourself hurrying up to a surgery room for a dislocated contact lense.
THESE are some really dumb ways to lose your eyesight. If you don't care about your eyes, I would gladly take one of em, because I lost mine. :P

lol. I lost it when I was a year old due to an operation-gone-wrong. I only have one good eye, the other one is not even curable.
