I teach Year 5 (9-10 year olds) who would absolutely love to hear me say "salaash" for a day. And I bet they wouldn't forget it, no matter how late it was!
Salaash for 'Word of the day' is perfect for Year 5, give them table points for using it in the right context.
I taught my 5 year olds (I teach Year 1) the word 'inevitable' the other day during PSHE. They were very impressed.

Awww thats so cute... 5 year olds using inevitable. Must have been a deep PSHE lesson.
We do Philosophy for Children in our school.. We were recently discussing charity, was strange to see such deep and interesting thoughts coming out from children's mouths.
And I'll definitely try the "salaash" soon.. After I've finished reports and got some enthusiasm back for teaching!!
I love the 'Philosophy for children' inititative. I wish my lot were older enough to get it.
Don't talk about reports luv, I have only written 10.5. Tomorrow we are getting told where we will be for next year and I am DREADING knowing who my TA is going to be. I am allergic to adults and how to manage them.
I have already been told which class im getting though. I have 1 lunchtime crier and 1 chair thrower! Wake me up when September ends!!! :D
