I just looked around and see some poster with less than 400 posts having custom avatars…how is that possible? i thought you needed 1000+ posts

Slickstar, from what i know from previous instances, the only time a nick is changed is when your current nick reveals personal identity i.e. full name or something, and that concern is a legitimate reason to have the nick changed, and it has been done in the past.
If you can state the reason for the nick change (PM preferred), it can be looked into. However, i would recommend just creating a new one of your liking since this one is still fairly new.

You can upload a custom avatar after 1000 posts, and you’re eligible for a personalized smiley after 10,000 posts.

lol I know that is the rule. But how come some posters have less than 1000 posts but have custom avatars?
