Can i be?...

Re: Can i be?..

It’s good you brought this up, I was going to comment on this too but forgot to. Making vows is something undesirable in Islam because vows do not change a persons decree… Making a vow is when someone makes a promise to Allah that if such and such thing happens he or she will do so and so. This is something a person makes fard on oneself and it doesn’t change decree.
Abu Hurayrah narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who said (that Allaah said): “Vowing does not bring to the son of Adam anything that I have not already written in his Qadar (preordainments), but vowing is imposed on him by way of preordainment. Through vowing I make a miser spend of his wealth.” (Saheeh al-Bukhaari, no. 6119)

@sweet lady , you said you wan’t to thank Allah for having your baby. That’s a good thing . In fact you didn’t really have to make a mannat for that. It’s a sunnah to have an aqqeqah. For a girl you sacrifice one sheep and for a boy two sheep.
It was narrated that Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Every child is in pledge for his ‘aqeeqah, so slaughter (the sheep) for him on the seventh day, and give him his name, and shave his head.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1522; al-Nasaa’i, 4220; Abu Dawood, 2838. classed as saheeh by al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy on him) in al-Irwa’, 4/375.

Also khatams are not permitted in Islam as Rasool Allah (S.A.W.) never practised it himself nor did he advise anyone else to.

Allah knows best.
