I just wanted to add the concept of mannat seems wrong somehow. you should be doing what you are promising Allah in exchange for a baby, anyway and as a matter of course, and without any expectations attached to it. Prayer aren’t about bargaining- they are about having faith that your prayers will go answered in a way that iA is in your best interests, and who knows that better than Allah? I remember being taught this from a very young age. You should ask for what you want with no strings attached. What if your dua doesn’t come qabool in the way you were expecting? Will you stop praying and believing because it was part of your bargain and Allah didn’t come through for you? OF course not. So why even imply that with all these promises? Do good deeds, be a good Muslim and a good person, and trust that Allah will guide you and do what is in your best interests iA.

Not really like that… ofcourse i trust in Allah and have faith in him, but it was more as a promiss… I dunno how to explain. We often have Khatams at our place, and i wanted one when i got the good news/delivery… so you can call it a mannat but okay.. the intensions aint for bargaining or what so ever. I mean i do know people who feed the poor kids when they get a baby… that is also no bargaining na?..

I see it more like a way of thanking the Almighty for the blessings he has given… Instead of a party, just a khatam or feed the poors… thought it is a good thing to do so…

it is not like trying to bargain with some money or gold (what i also saw in some fams… mannats like giving 12 22 krt. gold bangles to a mosque orso..)

I would also like to add that when hazrat younis read the ayat karima whilst being swallowed up by a whale he did not make any mannat with allah or did not read it a specific number of times he read it without any expectation asking allah swt help and that is what we should do and inshallah allah swt will help us
