Keep us updated StrangeOne. I hope things improve. Also, if there is anything people on GS can do please do mention it. Could be regarding treatment, advice on recovery etc.

This is definitely a cautionary tale for people who've reached middle age. They should start taking asprin and blood pressure meds. A heartattack is not the worst that could happen to someone.
We're still uncertain if my grandmother can see properly although she does open her eyes and looks around she still can't speak at all so we can't know for certain. I'm praying the rest of the brain takes over the jobs of the part of the brain that was affected. She's a strong lady and she will definitely fight to regain independent movement. I hope Allah makes her fight easier and painless.

I understand where you are coming from. One of my aunt's who is in middle age had a fungal infection which affected her eyes, facial muscles etc. She had difficulty with movements and doctors said she only had few days to live but she survived.
So don't give up. Allah(SWT) is hearing you and will help you and your grandmother.
In addition to medical treatment and prayers would you also be interested in alternative treatments? Sometimes it helps with Allah(SWT)'s help. I can PM you some links within Pakistan if you think it can help to make a decision.

It's 10 steps forward and 5 steps backwards with her. Yesterday both physiotherapist and speech therapist were so positive about her progress and today she's in so much pain. Listening to her crying out in pain is dreadful but really my discomfort is nothing compared to hers.
