It depends on the culture. If it clashes with religion in most aspects then it can't and ahista ahista, our culture is moving towards an inevitable clash.
Culture never remains static. It always changes according to how our perception changes but our religion will always remain the same. That is the problem we will face so IMO, it can't prevail within the confines of religion.

Culture is multi-faceted, some aspects of it will clash with each other whilst others will be in harmony...
..Religion is a part of culture.
Our (Pakistani) culture has always been a culture of contradictions and I think that's how we like it..
For Western people everything is very simple, they either believe in one thing or another, they can't understand how we can live so many contradictions but that's how I like it, our values change depending on our moods, what we may do is not neccesarily what we believe... Just because two aspects of our culture clash does not mean we'll have to discard either..
