Can cell phones be hacked?

Yesterday night as I was talking on the phone and I happened to notice an interference as if I was connected to another line, maybe I’m being paranoid but I haven’t really called anybody after that so it’s only happened once. I was wondering if cell phones can be hacked? If yes, then what information do hackers need to be able to do this? My phone is password protected, and I’ve never left it unattended…

What do you mean when you say hacked?
Someone listening and maybe recording you calls?
I can't think of anyone else other then NSA..doesn't matter where you live :D
You can install AV and scan your phone.
Turn of the services you don't use.

I was just wondering, maybe it was a bad connection that night, it didn't happen again.

Phones can be hacked easily if its connected to the wifi that doesnt have security on it.

I ran an antivirus scan, and I don't have spyware.

if you put phone in a bag of rice overnight it will stop the hackers.

i've one bag, actually two bags [one containing Basmati Rice and the other containing Uncle Ben's rice, which one do you prefer? desi or vilaayati? :D] of rice. i can put your phone in my baga rice if you courier your fone to me! :D

put a patch of duct tape on the back of your cell (where the battery is), it will stop all kinds of interference from hackers and NSA et al

They won't be able to hack into your phone unless you install something dodgy.
