funguy, thats the feeling i have too, but it just seems that in the end nothing will happen to these idiots. courts in pakistan take decades to settle anything..
sarah there is PMDC which is supposedly watching for malpractice. but their just as useless as any other watchdog organization. maybe some NGO though, i'll have to research.
PA.. completely agree.. khaak ramzaan hota hai inka if they're in positions where its their duty to save lives and they're taking an extra long break to eat their samosaas and pakoraas..
lajjo as captain1 says, a lot of these holes are present in infants, and heal by themselves by the time they're 8 or 9, otherwise theres shunting procedures that can manage the condition quite well. it is not a disease people typically die from if they are treated well.
That is so horrible, Couldnt they file a report against them for negligence? If not, bring it to attention on the level of media or get NGO's involved.. This shouldn't be brushed aside. I wonder how these doctors would act if it was their own child.
That is not possible. it is criminal negligence, if that is the case. But, I will suggest that you ask some experience medical prectitioner to review the reports. If he/she is of the opinion that it was gross negligence than you should contact PMA or other related organizations for action
So sorry to hear about this. I can understand your anger; I was so upset at the careless attitude of several doctors when my brother had some mysterious illness for nearly a month that took his temperature to 107 and they didn't seem to be at all concerned.
This is really horrible. Other guppies have offered some good advice. Have you tried to report it?
mooli/devilicious we’ll try to get it on the press.. deykho. cat, it does feel like murder to us.
codey they dont, have any working ones. it isnt uncommon for medical staff to steal equipment from hospitals, but it might just have broken and nobody bothered to fix it. Three of the largest hospitals in karachi, Jinnah, NICH and NICVD share a CT scan machine, and that machine has been broken for about two years now. we had to rush the child to a lab in saddar while he was in a coma and having seizures from the brain damage, at the time when iftari traffic is at its peak.
sahar02, i hope your brother is okay now? as for reporting it, I will get it done inshallah this week. I found out today that we left his file in the hospital. god knows if they’ve kept it still or not. at any rate, I atleast plan to lobby the PMDC about the lack of live saving ventilators in a major city govt hospital.
