There are too many cases of this even in the US where ego overtakes humanity. Aren't there any independant watchdog groups that you can report them to, a doctors' union that can take action, or government agency that is responsible for such things? Maybe talking to and getting the testimony of nurses and other hospital staff would be a good idea as well. If it comes down to your word against theirs, try to collect any tangible evidence you can.
