thal wali lines refers to Sassi... oonth were used by her dewars to carry Punhoo. so tere meri ki chad ke shayar is asking to strive for original task. task to reach God.

agar aap ne Hamid Ali bela ko Shah Hussain ka ' maye ni main kinuu aakhan' gaate suna hai to ye wohi thought hai. Jab insaan dukh se bojhal ho jae aur koi bantne wala na mile to phir insaan ko apna aap uske hawale karna chahiye jis ke hath dukh ko khushi main badalna hai. Lekin ye safar itna aasan nahin hota.. uske liye riyazt/ mashq ki zaroorat paRti hai. ishq chahe insan se ho ya khaliq e insaan se riyazat mangta hai

I think Abrar wrote lyrics himself and he is quite well versed with follore and sufi poetry of Punjab and he uses that knowledge in that poetry. The stanza dealing with Thal and oonth sounded to me familiar, though I just read the lyrics in this thread
