Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

OMG:

Halaala is as halal in all four school of thoughts as it ought to be.

A women can not marry to a man who divorced her or from whom she took a Khula utill she becomes a widow or divorced wife of another man.

Having said that, marrying someone with the sole intention of getting divorced so that she can return to her previous husband is considered Haram.

Halaala otherwise is also a valid practice in Sunnism.

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

I have all 27 VHS cassettes of the program which was done in 98 back in Ramadan and all I remember he talked about was Muta’, not halaala

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

can someone plz tell me what halaala is

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

so a woman has to marry another man before she can marry the first one again.

But what about the man? Does he need to marry another woman before he can marry the first one (if we're talking about 4 wives: does he need to have that wife's slot filled up first and then emptied) before he can marry that woman again?

if not, why this asymmetry?

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

ask Allah swt and His Prophet for all your “why” … why can’t women divorce their husbands? why can’t women lead prayer in a congregation? why can’t women give khutba? … kewn Allah mian kewn?

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

if its a khula and not a divorce then the lady can re-marry. but there might be variatiosn so you have to aska scholar.

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

khula being granted from him?

khula is the separation taken by the wife becuz she dont wanna live with her husband.

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

Khula and Talaaq aren't synonymous??

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

What is muta?

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

Just to clarify. Its not a prospective choice.

The rule means if she had been marrried to someone and gets divorce for a reason or second husband dies, its OK for her to re-marry first husband.

The misconception would be that she marries again with someone with intention to get divorce. That is not marriage as we know it.

This misconception is shown in some movies or in some stories/novels.

(In older days men used to make fun of women or gave them hard time by giving them divorce three times at separate instances and in between would accept her …just to torment her.)

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

Contract based marriage for a limited time period.

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

what’s “muta”…? i’v heard this term before and all i know is that is related to marriage somehow…
can some please shed some light on this??

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

These two are different entities

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

how Khula differs from divorce?

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

Correct me if I am wrong

Divorce is Talaaq, said 3 times by the man to the woman

Khula is separation, demanded by woman from her husband, involving some elder in this decision, according to Islamic way

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

lol.. correct?? .. 'kaana is asking from andah(blind) :hehe: i have no clue about it …
i just wanna know the difference between the two in terms of ‘re-union’

Re: Can a woman remarry her ex-husband

Why can’t that happen?

Afterall, shia scholars have allowed the temporary marriages (one day, one hour etc.) so a man can satisfy his “urge”.

It is getting popular in Iraq these days.
