Its so that people take the concept of divorce seriously. These days people get divorces on a whim, and then get back together on a whim, and on a wide scale its destructive to family life.

Therefore, this ruling makes a couple think twice before getting a divorce, because the woman will have to marry another man before she can remarry her original husband…and we all know how uncomfortable that is for both the original husband and the woman.

not just marry… anyone can do that. she has to consumate the marriage before she can remarry…which makes it even more difficult.
