Can a mother do that?

One of my friend in US had a friend that had cancer and was in the last stages of it. Few days back she died and today my friend said that…

** “my friend that died she had cancer well they thought she died from that and she didnt her mom poisined her she said she couldnt see her daughter suffer any more” **

can this insanity be true? :frowning:

Euthanasia?

:konfused:

Yeah I think you are right. :bummer:

equivalent to murder....

Well, it may very well be. The thing is, those who do it, are convinced that they are doing a big favor to the dying person.

What if its what the dying person wants? To end all their pain and suffering by bringing forward the inevitable?

Not one among us can make a judgement on this unless they;ve been thru it themselves. If I personally were the one suffering with no hope of living on, I would want it to end quickly and nicely rather than suffering on and on. On the other hand, if it were a loved one of mine, I would not be able to - myself - give a toxic dose of medication. But i think that is weakness of ME! Very sad to be faced with something such as this and there is no one who can condone or condemn. Only thing to do is offer support and sympathy.

it really depends on the situation. maybe she wanted to die quickly. who knows what the intention was.

Well I guess it is true because she was gonna die anywayz so may be the mom just couldn't see her own child with so much pain...:(

I don't know the legal issues involved in this... but technically, if the power of attorney is handed over to the mother... I think she could make a decision on her daughter's behalf...

Sounds a lil toooo Kevorkian for me to ponder further bout it...

A decision to take someone's life?
So you guys are all saying that if the girl wanted to die quickly herself it would be ok?

For a Muslim it is suicide if one ends their life due to pain or suffering and euthanasia if one does it to another…

The Holy Quran clearly states that Allah :swt: does not lay upon anyone a burden more than they can bear…

Also, every pain, trial and tribulation that a person faces in this life clears and purifies him of his sins, so some scholars believe that every pain and suffering that a Muslim bears in life, is a bounty from Allah :swt: by which the person’s sins are erased and he is blessed for his patience and perseverance in Aakhira…

Mercy killing is strictly forbidden in Islam, for not only is it murder, it’s also depriving the other person of the pain and suffering which can benefit that person greatly in the afterlife…

There are many Ahadith regarding sickness and misfortunes that befall a Muslim and how they are in reality Allah :swt:'s mercy, a way of cleaning and purging the person of sins by absolving him of his mistakes by tribulations in this life rather than punishing him for it in the hereafter…

Agreed with Mamaof3. Lajwanti, sometimes god asks us to use our brain. If it hurts when you do that then don't press too much. Your message above makes God seem the most sadistic and cruel fool. I am sure that is not the case.

And I bet it hurts you to use your brain and you are one person I can put out of that misery with pleasure…Just say the word…:2guns:
