Can anyone call themself a syed? I mean what proof do syeds have that they are actually a descendant of the prophet pbuh? You could even buy that title in the past, and they is nothing in the Quran that mentions syeds. Even if you could prove you were a true ‘syed’ what does that even matter, we know that the uncle of the prophet pbuh is going to hell so why would any syed think they are subject to a different set of rules.

Lol anyone can change their last name to Syed and even if they are actually Syed, I don’t think they deserve any extra respect; they are the same as anyone else and thinking you are superior is just stupid. I was not even aware of Syeds until this thread. My parents never discussed castes with us. Some people are living in the past, get over it.
