Yeah, the guy who every top team was after (what do they know) and who has been sensational in Europe isn't even top 20 and who ironically is looking like the one person who made the only goal for Spain in the WC so far. Right. :/

So many things wrong with Spain, the issue of Costa's class would probably be the last of them.

Its not overconfidence its the way they play. Barca have been found out over and over again and Spain who play like them with the same players are now getting taught a lesson as well.

Picking a past it Alonso, Xavi, Casillas has been a poor decision. They have not adapted to playing with a proper striker in Costa, they are not used to it. They have been good with no striker and with Fabregas in the team and Villa who can play anywhere upfront.

Silva plays for City and is a top player but is very hit and miss for club and country.

It seems like spanish team is clearly lacking a leadership. dont understand why are they shy to give a shot at goal. There's been plenty of passing but no sense of urgency like aussies showed

Your last line pretty much spot on.

All that has happened all game is ball goes out to Pedro or Alba and instead of running behind the defence and creating space for their striker they dilly dally it and pass it back inside where there is no space for any midfielder nor strikers.

A. Madrid won the league, play Koke from the start. Play Mata or Fabregas. Do not play Alonso or Xavi who have been both very poor for their clubs, do not play Casillas who hasn't played for Madrid properly for TWO years. Play someone else than Silva who has been poor again on the big stage.

Poor poor stuff from a quality coach like Del Bosque.
