well - why compare apple with oranges ? Instead of Baluchistan and Sukkar - you know how much a melting pot , our bigger cities like karachi , lahore and islamabad are : you can find people from all the over country living in these three cities ... but that's not the debate !
how about the world?
and in my initial post on this topic I did state that I agree with the stance taken by David Cameron on these immigration related issues ... I echo his voice for tight immigration policies and control ... to make Britain the place it has been for decades ...
But you do have to take the size and cultural norms of a particular area in consideration - when we talk about migration policies ...
Britain has reached a level - where now it could only take people in - who would be beneficial to their economy and willing to integrate in British society ... a total opposite to migration pattern of 70s and 80s
And As i said earlier - I see no harm in it !
Definitely need tighter immigration controls, and I would go as far as saying tighter controls were needed as far back as the 80s. The issue I had was with this sentence..not with the need for controls
Britain is too small in size and snobbish in nature for being a ' Melting Pot ' ....
Not sure where people get this whole snobby nature...what place has handled immigrants better? especially those that are fairly different from local population in terms of race, religion, ethnicity.. France? Australia? Pakistan? India? switzerland?
The double standards piss me off! Cameron beta will moan and groan at the idea of KSA making all foreign women “integrate” into the society by having them wear abayas in public… his retarded theories will go out the door then. And yes, I’m comparing UK/EU to KSA, it really is heading that way in terms of restrictions on immigrants. Hence my decision to elope to the land of far far away with my prince charming at first opportunity.
How have the Pakistanis and what not imposed their culture on the British? Last time I checked it was the British Empire that was pissing on us Brownies. Now we're coming back to get you lot. Karma and such like.
well if given the chance - we would love to !
there is a fair section in British Desi population who wants their sad and sick rituals/customs to be a part of British culture in the name of religious/moral freedom

I don't see why anyone should have to give up their culture/religion in a new country. What sad and sick rituals/customs are we talking about though?
You are required to abide by the Laws and not the culture/tradition of your new country 'eh. I think this is where the USA has got it right, for the most part anyway.

Yup one shouldn't be - but just because you want to play in your house with different set of the rules , you cant apply them to every body else living out there ...

I don't remember seeing Desis try and apply their rules to everybody around them. Give us some line and we'll bite.
You never been around Muslim converts?
I have, I don't know what you're talking about. And most reverts are aligned with the Arab culture rather than Desi culture. We're about as different as it gets.
Was talking about people who still think they are living in some rural parts of Pakistan - plus the zealous lot , who wants to Islamize every thing within their reach ..

indeed, it has, part of it due to type of immigrants in terms of education and background, but that has been changing.
ask new immigrants job searching there.

Again if they're not stepping on any toes and their culture/customs are legal, I don't see a problem. I have yet to see a specific objection anyone has.
That's what I was getting at, but somehow bringing that up would make me "Islamophobic" now
Give us an example will you of what suffering you've been through at the hands of such people?
And the Mormons come a preaching don't they? What do you do? You start a movement against them or shut the door and laugh about it? Live and let live.
