This was the title track from Nazia Hassan’s last album, almost her swansong in a way. I thought the song with it’s groovy spanish beat, flammenco guitars and saxophones was REALLY REALLY awesome. But SHOCKINGLY the album didn’t sell too well in Pak when it was released like 15 or so years ago! WHY?!?!
My guess is that no one knew that it had such a gem of a track. Or perhaps the track itself was wayyyy ahead of it’s time. I mean it certainly doesn’t sound like it came out in the early 90s, I guess the latin sound may have been tad too FUTURISTIC for Pak audiences perhaps? Or were the rather dumb lyrics Camera Camera/Aye koi uskey Jeevan Mey/Yeh nahin honey doongi meri jaan] to blame? Whatever happened??? Why didn’t Nazia H make a rocking video out of it??? I think had this song/album been launched and marketed properly, it would probably have been her best selling one to date coz this ONE track is totally FANTASTIC!
