  2. 5 years to 10 years

Male (2~3 yrs) - 1000 ~ 1400 kcal/day with light to moderate activity
Female (2~3 yrs) - 1000 ~ 1400 kcal/day with light to moderate activity

Male (4~8 yrs) - 1400 ~ 1600 kcal/day with light to moderate activity
Female (4~8 yrs) - 1200 ~ 1600 kcal/day with light to moderate activity

Male (9~13) - 1800 ~ 2200 kcal/day with light to moderate activity
Female (9~13) - 1600 ~ 2000 kcal/day with light to moderate activity

Male (14~18) - 2200 ~ 2800 kcal/day with light to moderate activity
Female (14~18) - 1800 ~ 2000 kcal/day with light to moderate activity

Nutrition guidelines recommended for adults are inappropriate for most children under the age of five. This is because young children only have small tummies and so need plenty of calories and nutrients in a small amount of food to ensure they grow properly.
