calorie stickers...

New Yorkers try to swallow calorie sticker shock - Diet and nutrition - MSNBC.com

what do u guys think about it?.. is it a good idea to put calorie sticker on every single thing in restaurants?.. NYC seems to be adapting it.

Will this make any difference to you?. Will you still buy what u want to buy, or be careful?

Re: calorie stickers...

i think it is a great idea for those that are looking to lose weight. It'll make people think twice before making a food choice.

i think its great!

Before finishing the first paragraph, I am surprised that something as easily consumed as chocolate chip cookies or English muffins are in the dark from consumers on their high calorie stickers. It is one of the highly sought after items for breakfast - or any order of the day. People just don't know what they are eating and how 'healthy' it is. Restaurant chains just adore to label their food items as nutritional. A 1000 calories+ item and the nation has one of the highest obesity rates.

It is a good idea, perhaps not for the food industry. Pretty soon, consumers will have to be more aware of the ingredients that goes into their food behind the scenes (aspartame, suclarose). It is a good idea because we as society need to be aware of what we are eating. If, in a few years time, the rate of population's obesity continues to increase, food industry can sit on the sidewalk and laugh at that prospect. It is in our hands only.

It's a good idea. I'd like to know especially if I am trying to stick to a diet plan or if I have special needs.

I love that, now a days I check calories on everything and sometimes estimate ( to the lowest number of course).
